Excitement at the Green Gourmet

April 18th 2006 01:54
The day after we’d tried crossing over to the dark-side, I spent the day being totally sick. Taffy was a darling bringing me lemongrass-and-ginger tea. It was possibly referred guilt- we blamed the nausea on her mum’s homemade Baileys. Delicious yet deadly.

I’m telling you this so that the world is very aware that I was possibly not in my right mind, and thus should not be held accountable for the events that followed.

But that’s later.

We started innocently enough with dinner. And Mr. X was invited along. Really, it seemed like a good idea at the time. He wanted to meet her, she wanted to meet him.

Maybe it was the nervous tension, or the sheer surrealism of sitting down to dinner with my ex and my girlfriend, but everyone was in high spirits.

We went to the Green Gourmet, Newtown, a convenient choice since we’re all vegetarians. Yes, I realise that this means neither Ruth nor Cibbuano will ever date me. I’m finding the strength to go on living. To figure out what I’m talking about, click –here-.

Meanwhile, at the Green Gourmet. It’s a nice restaurant despite the décor. The service is prompt, the food comes in generous and hot servings, and there’s a nice kitty that sometimes comes purring up to sit on your lap. Probably not hygienic, but still a nice homey touch.

Mr. X had the Monk’s Choice Noodle- it took him back to his monk days. Taffy had Laksa- the biggest one we’d ever seen. And I had what looked like deep-fried strips of cardboard, but really turned out to be a yummy tofu entrée.

A word of warning about the ‘Better Than Oyster Fritters’- the Green Gourmet actually managed to make tofu taste like seafood- and it’s not pleasant.

We all got very excitable on the Jasmine Tea (we ordered Green, but what can you do?) and sexual innuendo abounded. While we 'helped' Taffy clean up the laksa she kept spilling on her silk corset, things became a little interesting..

In fact, we're THROUGH!

*throws CD collection at Lia*

and the wedding is OFF!
*throws diamond ring at Lia*

Boo hoo hoo hoo!
*runs crying into the laundry room and locks the door*

Whoah I'm staying out of this one...

I guess there just isn't enough room for you now Cibby.

They call it menage-a-TROIS for a reason! =P
