I slept over with Mr. X. And I didn’t tell Taffy. Not that there was sex, necessarily. But there was shared intimacy, and I didn’t want to tell her. Because if I did, we would fight. And if we fought, she would cry. Either way I would end up feeling incredibly guilty.
Are tears emotional expression or emotional blackmail?
There has to be a limit. We don’t want to be all repressed and bottled up, because that leads to nice quiet people who always keep to themselves committing mass murders.
And when any serious relationship comes to an end, tears are bound to enter into it.
But I was about to test the limits of where tears can take you. If mass murder sits at one end of the spectrum, what are we left with at the other?
